One week ago, we as a family, marched for the first time together in the
MLK, Jr. Day Parade. I have to say, I was very excited! Dustin has marched before, but this is the first time we have been able to take the girls. Our church partners with a predominately African-American church in our city and we march together in the parade as a symbol of unity & community. It was a beautiful day, a
little chilly, but spirits were high as this was the eve of Barack
Obama's inauguration.
Whether you are a democrat or republican or neither...the mood was undeniable. The excitement was almost palpable. Here are a few pics...
Well, Thursday afternoon was spent in the emergency room with little Miss E. Come to find out, she has pneumonia and RSV. Upon release, the nurse came in and said that the doctors almost kept her in the hospital. Part of me thought, "Well, if she's bad enough that they can't decide, maybe she should stay." But, I truly am thankful that we are able to treat her from home. Goodness knows she's seen her share of hospital stays. We're just staying in and keeping a close eye on her. Am I stir crazy...yes! Would I take stir crazy over a hospital stay? To quote Sarah
Palin, "You betcha"!
